Woof Studios – Here’s your chance to get portraits taken of your pets. Woof Studios
will be at the Humane Society Calumet Area doing just that on Saturday, April 20th.
There are thousands of backgrounds to choose from for your pet to pose in front. The
sitting fee is $10 and photos can be purchased by the sheet or individually. Woof
Studios will donate the sitting fee proceeds to the shelter. To make an appointment,

Humane Society Calumet Area Book Sale – The book sale is scheduled for May
16 through 19 at the HSCA. Visit the sneak preview of the sale on Wednesday,
May 15 from 2 to 4:30pm for a $5 donation. Also, do not miss out on the book sale
Sunday special: $5 for a bag of your choice of books. Gently used book (adult &
youth), CD, and DVD donations are appreciated. The shelter is located at 421 45th

Paws in the Park – The Humane Society Calumet Area is hosting Paws in the Park
Walk-a-Thon and Pet fair on Saturday, June 8 at Wicker Memorial Park in Highland, IN.
Paws in the Park is a fun-filled day for families, friends, and their pets. Leashed dogs
with a current rabies vaccine are welcome to participate in the walk. The event is from
8am – 2pm, with the Walk-a-Thon beginning at 9:30am.
Everyone is invited to participate either individually or as a team. The walker
registration fee is $25, which includes a t-shirt. Registration and pledge forms are
available now at the shelter. Raise pledges online by creating pledge page at
www.firstgiving.com/HSCalumet. All event proceeds will benefit the animals of the
HSCA.
Vendor, donation, and sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses and
organizations at Paws in the Park. The HSCA is also looking for volunteers to help out
